As a Nutrition major with an undeclared path, I wanted my internship to give me as much exposure to the field as possible. Jessica perfectly understood what I was looking for and did an excellent job of placing me in a position where I worked hands-on in all aspects of the beverage industry, including production, quality control and sales.She made the process of interning abroad so easy by sorting out my visa, finding great housing options and preparing me for German work culture before I even left the United States. Furthermore, she helped me enhance my personal and professional development by having regular one-on-one meetings where we discussed everything from homesickness to future career goals and graduate school options abroad.

Working with Jessica during the summer of 2018 while I served an International Internship at a bi-lingual primary school, St. Anna Grundschule, in Augsburg, Germany was incredibly enjoyable. Jessica’s personal experiences moving to and working in Germany allowed her to support me in every way imaginable. From assisting with paperwork for visas to providing professional development insight and even scheduling weekend trips for cultural experiences, Jessica’s knowledge and passion for professionally and personally exploring Germany and its culture was enlightening.

I was looking specifically for an internship in eye care as I hope to become an optometrist. I had a feeling that it could be difficult, as an internship in the medical field abroad can provide a lot of challenges in organizing. As stressful as the entire planning process can sometimes be, she provided me with ease knowing she would help me get it all worked out. I was lucky enough to work at an optic center for 2 months. When students asked about going on this trip, I advocated heavily for Jessica’s program as I knew she would be able to provide them with the same incredible experience that I was able to have. I will continue to let students know that the experience they can have is well worth it.

The best part of this experience was being able to talk about my experiences at my internship site as well as my experiences in Germany as a country to Jessica. It was really nice to be able to talk things through and share insights as well as receive support and guidance back from Jessica in so many ways. Overall, I absolutely loved my experience here in Germany! It went above and beyond all my expectations and provided me with some of the best learning opportunities I could have imagined. I will forever cherish my time here on both a personal and intellectual level.
